Hello All Stars.
Jensen isn't with us this week. First, let's see the photos and the color that you chose to portray in your photo.
Angela - White
Ayu: Lovely dress, lovely long neck, but the face looks a bit "derp" to me, honestly. Your face is never usually an issue, but here it looks derpy. As far as your representation of white, its solid, except for the derpiness... Unless you're trying to emulate a rage comic.
Yoona: I love the neck. So long and yummy. I can see the color that you want to portray but it's a little bit safe for me. But you covered it nicely with a strong modelling.
Emmy: I think the pose, the dress, and the setting are all totally on point. The face definitely isn't doing you any favors, though. It's almost like a candid shot taken while you were speaking, and it makes it kinda awkward and throws off the photo. Still, this is very good!
Christina - Alyssum
Ayu: Alyssum, which I guess is named after the flower. Your face is flawless, and I can really see the pinky girlishness in this picture, but that arm of yours, specifically the hand, is really creepily clawish.
Yoona: Except for the positioning of ur hand, I adore this photo. I love the color. Very soft and elegant and you represented the color nicely. So good job.
Emmy: Agreed, it's just that one hand that keeps this from being flawless. Great work this week!
Emma - Grey
Ayu: Well, your certainly got the neutral boringness that grey encompasses. The shoes are amazing, the dress is great and flowy. The image could stand to be a tiny bit bigger. Just another note, the neck being just a little bit higher to make that turtle-neck turn into an owl.
Yoona: I love neck but sometimes, I don't need neck and I still love the photo. Even though without the neck, you still look tall and gorgeous. The dress look good on you. Not a fan of the color but you did good.
Emmy: I like the color, but I don't like the pose. It seems closed-off and hostile, and your facial expression isn't helping. Overall, though, I think this is a pretty decent job and it fits the theme well.
Imogen - Beige
Ayu: Beige is an ugly colour. That's why it gets a bad rep, just saying. The thing about beige is that it has a reputation of a cheap and boring colour, and colour choice is a big difference. For example, you probably don't want to choose grey, unless you're taking the dreary and tragic route, you'd want to say "Silver" or "Platinum". "Ivory", which is more expensive, covetted and beautiful than "beige", and would have reflected and connected beautifully on your picture.
Yoona: Stunning photo and hey, I like Beige. I think it's a stunning color. I love the setting here. And your face... Simply irresistable here. Great job.
Emmy: I think the photo is good, but the quality's a tad off. Still, it was definitely adventurous to choose beige, and I think you did really well with it!
Janet - Earthy Brown
Ayu: 3/4 profile is a good angle for you. Head on just doesn't work for your face. I think you do an amazing job at portraying elements of the Earth, but I don' see the "psychology" angle you were pining for. "hardworking" "industrious", no. "Reliable", "planeted firmly", yes. I wish there was just a bit more on going on with the face too, though.
Yoona: This photo reminds me of Cheryl's photo. I love that photo. I think this is solid. The color is there and I love how soft your expression this week. Good job
Emmy: This is definitely one of your best shots in the entire contest. I think you really nailed it this week.
Kim - Black
Ayu: THOSE SHOES! OH MY GOD, THOSE SHOES! I can't get over those shoes. I want them. In terms of black, I think it's flawless styling, but the posing. There needs to be a bit more something. Something to make it a bit more intimidating that standing with arms to the side.
Yoona: Very bold and brave. I love this. With Black I expected something different and provocative because the color itself is quite boring. This is stunning. I'm going to remember this.
Emmy: This is very good, and it's a huge departure from the norm. Really love the flexibility that you're showing us with this portfolio. Not gonna lie, though, I almost wonder if that's actually you? It doesn't look like you at all.
Laura - Purple
Ayu: Expensive and glamourous, just like purple. Legs are long, I'm sure Jensen will appreciate that profile on a beautiful blonde woman. But that face. Zero intensity, and it looks like you've been roofied. As another note - This image is far too big.
Yoona: Last two weeks were so tough for you. You were so close, girl. I love this week photo. Very sensual and I love how you relate your photo perfectly with the Purple. Great job
Emmy: I really like the interpretation of the luxury that purple connotes. It's a great way of connecting to the theme, although I wish the color itself was a bit more prominent in the photo. Still, this is fantastic in pretty much every department. Great job!
Mia - Red
Ayu: I know you're saying red as the colour for Vasculitis awareness, but the thing with that is that red is also the colour for so many other awarenesses, including sexual violence and HIV. Your face is flawless, the styled bob looks great on you, but that dress is really ugly, and I can't get over the stiffness. Somehow that dress is making you even more stiff that you would be without it.
Yoona: I like this. The dress is my favorite thing from this photo. I felt like you could do more with the dress. The pose could be stronger. But overall, this is solid
Emmy: I think it's an interesting explanation, don't know how much I buy it, but I think it's pretty solid nonetheless. Definite points for creativity, even if I do find the whole photo a tad odd.
Paloma - Arctic Blue
Ayu: The icy filter of the whole picture but adds and subtracts to your picture. Because of the stark whiteness of that beautiful canine, it sort of takes centre stage, whereas you, with your blue dress with the blue filter and blue setting just blend right into the background. If it weren't for your bright orange hair, you would note be noticed.
Yoona: Your explanation is so good. It made me think. I like that. I get the meaning behind this. You look gorgeous and I love the calmness in this photo. Which is good for the color. I think this photo perfectly fits the color
Emmy: I think this fits really well, but I agree that the dog kind of overshadows you a bit, and the facial expression almost seems disgusted to me? I think it's great, but it's just those one or two tiny things that keep it from being my favorite.
Shailene - Green
Ayu: This is incredibly blurry. Like pathetically blurry. Like I need someone else's glasses just to see it properly. One quick google search of "Shailene Woodley Lab magazine" (which is the shoot this came from), leads to this picture is stunning quality. I'm assuming you weren't using a Shailene Woodley fansite gallery, because even then you could find this picture in stunning quality which would have given you a fighting chance at staying this week. I'm sorry, but I can't see you progressing past this photoshoot.
I know you're on your phone, but as another note, it's not rocket science to find a computer with internet access in public places, like your local library. It's not really an excuse for me.
Yoona: Shai... I think the original photo would be good. The crop version... I don't know what to say. I can see the color but the quality is bad. The pose is awkward but I love the styling. I hope it will help you.
Emmy: Well, if nothing else I appreciate your ingenuity and how hard you've worked to stay alive despite not having a laptop. I do have to agree that it really didn't pan out for you this week with the technical issues, though. Lots of love.
