Hello All Stars!!!
I have 9 remaining models this week but 1 of you will be eliminated but it might not be an ending for you journey in this competition, because after the elimination this week, the judges will deliberate again and rank all the photos for eliminated models and we will bring back TWO models to come back and rejoin the other 8 models who still in this competition.
Let's see the photos this week
Angela - Homeland Security
Ayu: Homeland security? I don't buy it. Not at all. Not even 1%. Even with your little explanation trying to sell us that this is a matter of Homeland security, I don't buy it. Don't get me wrong, it's got great fashion content and modelling is on fleek, but homeland security? Even fashion shoots that deal with this topic have some sort of military symbolism in it. This picture could depict an issue of embracing and preserving culture, maybe. But definitely not homeland security
Jensen: Modeling is perfect. High fashion in check. I like that you're standing tall and defending your homeland. I do agree mostly with Ayumi though. But you have nothing to worry about.
Yoona: Yeah.. A very strong photo but yes, I felt like the pose could be stronger. Since it's Homeland Security, I expected for you to give something like a fighter pose. But I love the modelling in this photo
Christina - Mental Health Depression
Ayu: It's not as good as BoA's last cycle, but passable. I think BoA's example had a lot more impact than this. I enjoy the grey-blue overtones, face is lovely and morose. It's a decent showing.
Jensen: BoA's expression had a bit of a smile which wrecked it as perfection, yours is much closer IMO. No one will ever top Nina's submission so everyone needs to just stop trying lol This is good.
Yoona: I love the concept and your expression fits the issue well. But the pose. Somehow you look shorter here. Maybe if you stretch you legs and be more graceful, I would love this even more.
Hilary - Woman's Rights
Ayu: I see your theme a little bit, a bit pedestrian and plain, and also a little bit too secretary fashion rather than CEO, but it's still more present than some of the other entries this week. I wish the image was bigger and more focused.
Jensen: Ayumi took the word right out of my mouth. Secretary. Sorry girl, just doesn't work for woman in charge IMO
Yoona: I'm not a fan of this. I expected something more powerful. Fiercer and stronger. I want that. I think this photo is too 'cute' for Woman's Rights. I'm sorry, Hilary. I expected more from cause the last two shoots, you slayed me.
Imogen - Animal Abuse
Ayu: I actually didn't see anything about animal abuse in your picture before I jokingly told you to give a BS spiel, and after it... I still don't, honestly. I don't really buy it at all. I basically see a pretty girl sitting on a couch. That could be that I'm a vicious and evil meat eater, but I'm finding it difficult to grasp the idea of "animal abuse" in this picture.
Jensen: I'm sorry but I see nothing but patterns. No fur, no leather, no ivory.
Yoona: I like this but I felt like there's a disconnection between you and the setting. I felt like the setting is good for what you tried to do but where's your lust towards the animal prints? If you look more proud with all that tacky stuffs, I would easily rank this first.
Janet - Freedom of Speech
Ayu: Remember in magazine cover week how I said I'm not quite ready to see your face so close up. Yeah, this is probably worse for me. Definitely not ready for this. Not really buying your Freedom of speech issue here either. I think if you had have taken the censorship approach, and went with a more adult concept, for example, in the UK, BDSM and other porn was recently banned.
Jensen: This is scary lol But I buy it probably more than Ayumi does. SHOCKER. Anyway, the open mouth part kind of takes away from trying to prevent Freedom of Speech but overall, you did better than at least two others so you're safe obviously.
Yoona: I'm with Jensen. Shocker!!! I like this. It's unique. Weird too and captivating. I can see what you tried to do. You still look beautiful so nice work.
Kim - Legistlation of Gambling
Ayu: This to me seems like a great depiction of the slippery slope argument that opponents to the legalisation of gambling have. Really, i'm liking everything here... But your face, again. Your face is a huge recurring problem for me, in this case, it just looks wrong. It's probably not a good angle for you.
Jensen: Your setting is perfect. This doesn't look like you at all though. But the modeling is good, the high fashion is good and the setting perfect.
Yoona: Last round, when I choose to keep you over Shailene, I was waiting for my flight and it was a rush decision. Then I realized that Shailene's overall score was higher than you so I was like, did I just made a wrong decision. So I was really nervous if you perform poorly this round and I was doubting myself. But then, here comes this photo. This is very strong. Definitely my favorite photo from you this cycle. Everything about this photo is Gorgeous!!!
Laura - Censorship
Ayu; I am passionate about the issue, but this picture to me reads as really amateur. Your face looks great, but it's the whole composition, and the filter, it's just not the best quality or most impressive image we have this week. Also, be careful with the watermark in the corner, and also the size. A good way to look for better sizes is actually Yandex, rather than Google Images. Google images is shit.
Jensen: I wish you were naked. Otherwise, everything Ayumi said, just copy and repeat for me
Yoona: A little bit torn about this one. Love the concept but the execution was average to me. I don't know.. And yes, quality!!! What happened? Because since the first week last cycle, after an intimate session with Ayumi (Only Lorn knew, what she did to you), you didn't have any major quality issue. So I'm a little bit surprised with the quality of your photo for this week.
Mia - Imprisonment
Ayu: Sounds like an Australian crime thriller you have just explained to me, but thankfully you're no Schapelle Corby. It took me a while to notice that the back is not tiled, but rather a fence. I understand your reference, and I can see the visual representations in your picture. A short bob is a hard look to pull off, and unfortunately, it is not a good look for you.
Jensen: I like this. Not my favourite but I like it.
Yoona: The fashion is stunning. I love it. But the connection with theme could be more stronger. But overall, this is very solid.
Paloma - Death Penalty
Ayu: I'm confused. Is this picture in favour of or against the death penalty? I actually like the picture, I think it's next to perfect for artistically portraying the death penalty... But I don't understand the position it takes.
Jensen: Modeling is top notch and the picture is really great.
Yoona: I wasn't sure either if this photo represent a group that favor or object the Death Penalty. So it would be much better if you put 'Pro' or 'Anti' for this week. But this photo is stunning. Very haunting and beautiful.
